Special thanks to Ken (TheCommish) from NJ for
contributing this May 7, 1986 acoustic show @ TT the Bears in Cambridge, MA
Also, thanks to previous STC webmeister Greg from TX for
sending more memorabilia (and in doing so reminding me how lazy I have been with updates
to this site...) More to come soon.... I hope.

Scruffy fan Big Tim from Plymouth, MA has unearthed evidence
that there were most likely several shows before the first show listed on the GIG LIST.
He sent in this scan of a ticket for a show in Marshfield,
MA, dated Februaruy 20, 1983 (Hey! that's 23 years ago TODAY!)

Big Tim writes:
Attached is a ticket to one of, if not the first Scruffy the Cat show in a
club ..(notice the date ) .. This was a different band line-up than the later
"bigger" Scruffy though it did consist of both Charlie Chesterman and Stephen
Freddette ..
Thanks Big Tim!

Here's a message from Greg, the previous webmaster, and
founder of the Unofficial Scruffy the Cat Homepage:
Scruffy fans:
Thanks to all of you who visited and
contributed to my old Scruffy the Cat site. It wouldn't have been what it was (or as much
fun to do) without you. Your old webmaster would also like to use this space to publicly
thank your new webmaster. Bruce is a true Scruffy fan, and this site couldn't ask for a
better webmaster. I leave you in his capable hands. See you on the message board. Long
live Scruffy!
Greg

The Unofficial Scruffy the Cat Homepage has
a new home. Now free of geocities & yahoo ads and with its own "unique" url
- "tinybum.com"
Why tinybum? Well... it just happens to be a
domain name I registered awhile back and I wasn't doing anything with it... kinda fits
Scruffy the Cat a little bit - no? "Tiny Days"... tinybum... close enough...?
New "webmaster" Bruce (that's me) is slowy moving
things from Greg's yahoo/geocities site over to this page - please be patient as things
progress & report any bugs or weirdness by sending an email here: admin@tinybum.com
I (Bruce) am keeping much of Greg's old content "as
is" so if you previously corresponded with him, and you send email to me.... I may
not know what you're talkin' about.
Again - please be patient as things get moved over here - and
while you're here join the new Message Board if ya like:

I hope to have a new message to post here soon from Greg.

The following are a few items of interest from the most recent production newsletter from
producer/engineer Pete Weiss. There are a few
Scruffy-related items he's been working on:
"Mastering/restoring early-80's Des Moines, Iowa punk band THE LAW (which eventually
transmogrified into Scruffy The Cat and Young Fresh Fellows)... Mastering some excellent
live-on-the-radio tapes by CHARLIE CHESTERMAN for future release...."

I'm afraid I just haven't had much time to update the site in recent months. My apologies,
Scruffy fans. I've still got a bunch of stuff Mr. Chesterman sent me to add, and I assure
you, it will get added. Thanks to Scruffy fan Dan, the LYRICS section is now pretty much done.
There are still a few holes in songs where I wasn't clear on some of the lyrics (mostly on
Moons of Jupiter), so if you can fill in the blanks, please e-mail me.
October 1, 2003
The benevolent Charlie Chesterman recently sent me a box full of Scruffy the Cat
memorabilia. Let me tell you, it's quite the treasure trove of Scruffy stuff. As time
permits, I'm going to start adding what I can to the site. So far, I've started up a PRESS section. More is soon to follow.
September 1, 2003
The lyrics section has been revamped and now includes drop-down menus that allow you to
jump directly to specific songs. Unfortunately, I still haven't had a chance to transcribe
all of the lyrics. If you're willing to help type up some lyrics, please e-mail me your submissions. I might even send you a
reward.

The Scruffy the Cat tune "Moons of Jupiter" was used in an episode of Fox TV's
animated series Futurama. The episode, titled "Put Your Head on My Shoulder,"
aired Feb. 13, 2000, during the show's second season. The second season set of DVDs for
Futurama is now out on DVD. The "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" episode is
included in the set, and the audio commentary for the episode makes mention of the Scruffy
tune. Check out Amazon to purchase the DVDs, or visit
this Futurama site for more info.
